Cost of Living on the Rise

For more reasons than one, the pool of experienced crew is dwindling. Pursuing a career in the film industry is becoming less appealing for the average person. Coupled with the long hours and inconsistent schedules is the financial requirements and grueling demand of film school and accelerated training programs. Sixty-to-eighty-hour weeks and high tuition costs are simply not feasible when relying on a regular income to pay bills or juggling the other ongoing demands of life.
As a result, the number of emerging graduates is struggling to meet the demand for current production levels and industry turnover as the older generation advances into retirement.
